Battle phantoms and claim your share of the treasure that awaits within the treasury!
Ocean Forts are built-up, fortified stone structures in the bounding main. When active, players tin can take on waves of Phantoms and a Captain of the Fortress to reveal a stash of treasure.
Listing of Sea Forts [ ]
At that place are six individual Sea Forts around the Sea of Thieves, ii in each region except The Devil's Roar.
Sea Forts in each region come with a unique theme for their region. The Shores of Plenty has a standard Spanish fort style, The Wilds has a chained down prison theme, while forts in The Ancient Isles are rundown and overgrown with flora.

The Location [ ]
The interior of the forts are split up into multiple dissimilar rooms of different uses to the previous inhabitants. These include a rowboat docking bay, living and food preparation spaces, sleeping quarters, and defence force posts.
Body of water Forts accommodate many interactive mechanics and points of interest:
- i Treasury Vault on lower level
- ane Store Room on roof level
- i Jail Prison cell on the lower level
- Miniature Cannons (Functionally equivalent to the Cannon mounted on Cannon Rowboats)
- Special containers, which may exist opened to occasionally reveal small-scale treasure items or Gold Pouches
- Large Crates with removable lids
- Pocket-sized Foot-chests
- Minor Wall-mounted cupboards
- Large Flooring-mounted cupboards with two doors
- Large Vanities with 2 doors
- Floor mounted hatches, and wall mounted window shutters.
- Caster systems for controlling a platform, some barrel lifts, and portcullis gates.

- Bunk Beds
- 1 Wall mounted Map Table in the Kitchen
- 1 large Stove able to melt iv items at once
- 1 warning Bong on the roof level
- Multiple Barrels with varying supplies.
- ii-4 Cannonball Barrels with fifty Cannonballs per barrel.
- ane-3 Wood Barrels with around xv Wooden Planks per barrel.
- one-two Food Barrels containing a diverseness of fruit.
- 0-5 pulley systems containing three White Barrels each, which accept higher drop rates for Pineapples, Ruby Splashtails, and animal Meat.
The Raid [ ]
Different other Globe Events, Sea Forts are always active provided that they have not recently been completed by a coiffure. An active Sea Fort is indicated by the raised flag, ghostly lights and ominous music on approach. Upon budgeted the Body of water Fort, stationary cannons will begin firing at oncoming ships as an effort to fend off attackers. Sea Forts volition repopulate when no player crews are occupying the area within approximately ii tiles on the Map Table.
Upon arriving at the Sea Fort, players will fight 8 short waves of Phantoms. The sound of a deep Bell ringing can be heard to point the start of a new moving ridge.
Sea Fort Phantoms slightly differ from standard Phantom; they have simply 55 health rather than the regular 100 and tin can have wearable and armor that resembles soldiers in the Castilian Fleet. Like other Phantoms, Sea Fort Phantoms can driblet Ammo Pouches on defeat.
The final wave volition consist of a small number of Phantoms and ane Helm of the Fortress. Upon defeat, the Captain of the Fortress will drop a Fortress Treasury Central and all remaining Phantoms will retreat. This key can exist used to unlock the Treasury Vault at the lesser floor of the Sea Fort, revealing a stash of Ghostly and Regular Treasure for the taking.
Boosted Treasure Items can be found throughout Body of water Forts by searching the interactive cupboards and shelves around the Fort. A 2d, smaller treasure room on the tiptop floor of each Sea Fort tin exist unlocked with a Fortress Store Room Key found subconscious somewhere within the Fort.
Once a raid is completed, players are free to remain within the expanse for as long as they like. Cleared Bounding main Forts will not repopulate until all crews accept left the area around the Sea Fort.

Rewards [ ]
There are three different ways to earn treasure in a Sea Fort: Treasury Vault, Shop Room and Hidden Stashes. All the Body of water Fort'south treasure is worth between fifteen,000 and 25,000 Gold (without Emissary).
Treasury Vault [ ]
The Treasury Vault contains the bulk of the fort'southward treasure. It is unlocked past defeating each wave of Phantoms and using the Fortress Treasury Key dropped past the Captain of the Fortress on the final wave to unlock the door on the lower level of the fort. Opening enough of these Treasuries can achieve players the What's Yours Is Mine and Repeat Offender Commendations.
The contents of the Treasury Vault are guaranteed:
- 2 Chests of the Damned
- ii Skulls of the Damned
- ii Ashes of the Damned
- ii Captain's Chests
- 2 Villainous Bounty Skulls
- 2 Trade Practiced Crates (Types include: Crate of Rare Tea, Crate of Exotic Silks, Crate of Exquisite Spices)
- 2 Regular Artefacts of Silver, Gold or Jeweled tier
- iii-4 Gold Piles
- ane Gilded Pouch
Store Room [ ]
The Fortress Store Room is on the roof level and contains a small quantity of valuable treasure. It can be unlocked at any time throughout the battle, providing crews can locate the Fortress Shop Room Central by rifling through interactive cupboards and shelves around the fort and inserting it into the door on the roof level. A floor hatch can be opened in here to aid players ship treasure out of the room more than quickly by dropping it down a floor.
The contents of the Store Room are guaranteed:
- 2 Chests of the Damned
- one Mermaid Precious stone of whatever type
- one Heart of Nature Firework Crate
- 0-2 Gilded Pouches
Hidden Stashes [ ]
Diverse small treasure items such equally Artefacts and Bounty Skulls tin exist found at any time throughout the boxing by rifling through interactive cupboards and shelves around the fort. Finding enough of these treasures tin can reach players the Calorie-free Fingered and Master Burglar Commendations.

Ghostly visions [ ]
Ghostly visions of Sea Forts began appearing on the seas on March 3rd during 2.4.ii. They could only be spotted from a certain distance abroad so if you strayed too shut or far away, the phenomenon would begin to disappear. There were 6 apparitions visible at specific points around the Sea of Thieves. These visions were removed with the full introduction of Sea Forts in 2.5.0.

Lore [ ]
Sea forts were originally created from the memories of those who dwell within the Bounding main of the Damned and had no physical form. Following the events of Shrouded Islands and the defeat of the Soulflame Captain, the connexion between the world of the living and the world of the dead was strengthened enough for Captain Flameheart to fully manifest these forts with the Ocean of Thieves.
The Phantoms that homo these forts are loyal to Flameheart, interim as his Jailers to confine living prisoners, nearly notably the members of Golden Sands Outpost who went missing during the events of Shrouded Islands. These prisoners were rescued during the Forts of the Forgotten run a risk.

- Ancient Skeletons tin can spawn at Ocean Forts.
- During the Forts of the Forgotten Adventure, Sea Fort Cannons fired Phantom Cannonballs instead of normal ones.
Trivia [ ]
- Bounding main Forts were first announced during the Sea of Thieves 2022 Preview Upshot.
- From March tertiary, 2022 to the release of 2.v.0, there were half-dozen ghostly visions of Body of water Forts around the Sea of Thieves.
- Sea Fort Bells play the normal bell sound effects when shot or attacked instead of playing the unique sound effect.
- Sea Forts were created from the memories of pirates, and thus are similar in appearance to famous fortresses from beyond the Sea of Thieves[1].
- Despite existence created from the memories of the wider world, Sea Forts contain items commonly institute on The Body of water of Thieves as the Phantoms inhabiting Ocean Forts accept plundered these treasures from the Bounding main of the Damned[ii].
Bugs [ ]
- Occasionally the door opened past the Fortress Shop Room Fundamental will exist permanently locked, with the appearance of the primal already in the door. This will render the Fortress Store Room Key unusable and the boodle inside unobtainable.
